This month WLRN trains its eye on the movement to indoctrinate children into gender ideology through the public school system.

Our show starts with our monthly report on the gender industry from Jen Bilek over at the 11th Hour blog, followed by Elizabeth Miller’s segment, Getting Organized. This month, Elizabeth interviewed Angela Wild about her feminist activist store “Wild Womyn Workshop,” her feminist street activism, and her LesbianMeToo and Get The L Out UK projects. You can find Wild Womyn Workshop at wildwomynworkshop.com

Aurora Linnea is back with the headline news before we dive into our interviews, Thistle speaks with MaryJo Walters, a mom with children in Madison, WI public schools; Jenna talks with The Deprogrammer (link below) about what is and has been actually happening in schools, with youth, across the country. Sekhmet SheOwl closes out our show with her thoughts on ‘gender’, and what the liberals and conservatives get both right and wrong on the matter.

Your Women’s Liberation Radio News broadcast is always a grassroots, volunteer-powered, feminist production created in the spirit of global women’s liberation. Thank you as ever for your support!!

  1. Hi WLRN,
I would like to first say that I’m a passionate lesbian feminist listener to your podcast. I greatly appreciate the work you do, and value the space you create for women in thought and speech. That being said, I was very disappointed with this month’s episode.
The interview with MaryJo Walters was unpleasant to listen to. Walters’s commentary focused entirely on her dislike for trans people and the trans movement, with little to no comment on the movement’s effect on women in general and lesbians in particular. In fact, she seemed to oppose the trans movement based on its effect on children. The way she speaks is reminiscent of a Right-wing speaker denouncing the inappropriateness of exposing children to homosexuality. This is disquieting to say the least, and became outright intolerable when she mentioned that she views speaking about different sexualities as inappropriate for children.
In addition, she mentions a Right-wing law group opposing trans education in schools, and doesn’t pause to denounce their position. Right-wingers and radical feminists should NOT be conflated, especially in relation to the trans movement. It should be clear that our reasons for opposing the movement are vastly different, and it should be even clearer that Right-wingers do not have women’s best interests in mind.
Additionally, Walters focused particularly on the acronym “TERF” as an identifier. “TERF”-ism is certainly not the be-all and end-all of radical feminism and honestly, considering Walters’s other statements, I doubt that she’s a radical feminist at all, or at least not the type I’ve come to associate with lesbian feminism. Hatred of gender non-conforming people is not the same as radical feminism.
It’s entirely possible I’ve misinterpreted parts of the episode, but I don’t think I’ve misinterpreted the general idea. I don’t appreciate the alliance with the American Right, and I CERTAINLY don’t appreciate the implication that homosexuality is somehow an “adult topic.”
    Respectfully,
    Shannon

    1. Thank you for this feedback. We air the opinions of women who we disagree with in addition to those we agree with. And yes, she has no qualms about partnering with conservatives to fight gender ideology/identity. Walters’ views do not (necessarily) represent the views of WLRN or our listeners. We appreciate your listenership and that you shared your opinion here. Many of us on the team at WLRN are lesbian feminists ourselves and also do not agree with many right-wing and conservative positions, coming clearly from the left before it was captured by the gender identity cult. We also see that conservatives are not our friends and often report on the deceptions, betrayal, and misogyny of both the right and the left in America. Thanks again for your comment and for staying tuned to WLRN!
