Jo Brew of Feminist Question Time Speaks with WLRN

On April 18th Jo Brew sat down with WLRN’s Thistle Pettersen to talk about how and why she became a radical feminist and what she is up to in her most recent years of feminist activism.

Jo Brew is a lesbian radical feminist activist. She is the coordinator of the Women’s Human Rights Campaign (WHRC) and hosts their weekly online Feminist Question Time webinars which are attended by hundreds of women from all over the world. In the 1980’s she worked on Shocking Pink, Spare Rib and edited the European Forum of Left Feminists newsletter before working as a lobbyist on trade and development issues in Brussels for WIDE – Women in Development Europe. Her paid work is in the area of climate change and regenerative horticulture.

  1. love Jo Brew. Thanks, Thistle. I’m not sure why she disagrees with matrifocal, as she seems to come close to it promoting women’s groups and working outside patriarchal organizations. Next time you talk with her (after you figure out how to do the 24 hour rational news) perhaps you could ask her how much of our precious feminist time should be devoted to lobbying congress in the u.s.
