This month, WLRN’s Julia had the pleasure of interviewing Anya Robyak, a feminist educator from North Carolina, about how teachers and parents can work together to enhance the equity of our children’s lives. She brings up key questions about the F-word, especially concerning when and where to say it.

Anya has worked in Early Childhood Education for almost 20 years as a classroom teacher, researcher, consultant, and college instructor. She holds graduate degrees in Early Childhood Special Ed, Fiction Writing, and Instructional Technology. By bringing radical feminist analysis to the theory and practice of Early Education, she hopes to open up conversations about the ways in which sexism shapes children’s lives. She is currently working on a book with the working title: Using the F-word in the Classroom: A Feminist Approach to Early Childhood Education.
